The Rich History of Blue Mound
Blue Mound grew up in the 1920s and 30s around Globe Laboratories, a cattle-serum business started by Scottish immigrant John Kennedy, and his follow-on venture, Globe Aircraft Company, built near the intersection of Blue Mound and Watauga roads. Live here today and you’re living in the town that grew up around that intersection, still named for the low mound rising nearby on this stretch of north Tarrant County prairie.
